As of the end of November 2018, there were 294,776 refugees in South Sudan and 1.97 million internally displaced South Sudanese who were forced to flee their homes but did not cross an international border. The vast majority (92%) of refugees come from Sudan.
The south sudanese province of Unity hosts many of them in the refugee settlement of Yida and in the refugee camps of Ajung Thok and Pamir. As of 31 March 2019, the total refugee population in Unity stood at 38,413 in Ajuong Thok, 31,304 in Pamir, and 51,768 in Yida. Most of them (61%) are below the age of 18.
